ABOUT US

Our Story:

The LangCube game was developed by Lecturer Dr. Zekeriya KAZANCI during his time as a Turkish language instructor at Uppsala University in Sweden between 2019 and 2024. Dr. Kazancı noticed that his students learning Turkish as a foreign language often struggled with grammar, sometimes even giving up on learning the language altogether. To make learning more enjoyable, he designed this board game. Initially, he tested the game with his own students, and after receiving positive feedback that it was both fun and educational, he collaborated with the Uppsala University Innovation Center to further develop the game.

The Uppsala University Innovation Center deemed the game worthy of financial and moral support, providing Dr. Kazancı with a consultant, a mentor, and training in various fields. They also provided him with 24/7 access to the Uppsala University “Ångström Laboratory.”

Up after his term at Uppsala University ended and he returned to Çukurova University, where he holds a permanent position, Dr. Kazancı... Kazancı continued his efforts to develop this game in Turkey. After securing both the rights to the name LangCube, which he named after the game because it facilitates language practice and its basic components are cubes, the game began to be produced by ZeKa Educational Materials company.

Initially designed for teaching Turkish to foreigners, the "LangCube Turkish Edition" was followed by the "LangCube English Edition" for those who want to learn English. Thanks to its flexible production methods that are open to continuous change and development, LangCube offers a user-centric design, and German, French, Swedish, Arabic, and Spanish versions will be developed in the near future.
